1. Who we are

AI Career Shield ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by the AI Career Shield team. Our product helps individuals understand how AI may affect their specific job role and provides personalized upskilling guidance.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service.

• Job title or occupation. When you search for a role or browse our directory, we use your input to return relevant AI exposure scores.
• Email address (optional). If you subscribe to quarterly score updates, we store your email address to send those updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Account information (Pro subscribers). If you create an account, we collect your email address and, via Stripe, your payment information. We never store payment card details ourselves — all payment processing is handled by Stripe.
• Usage data. We use Vercel Analytics and PostHog to collect anonymized data about how pages are used (e.g., which occupations are viewed most, click-through rates on recommendations). This data is aggregated and not linked to individual identities.

3. How we use your information

• To provide AI exposure scores and skill recommendations for your role.
• To send quarterly score update emails if you opted in.
• To process payments and manage Pro subscriptions.
• To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns.
• To respond to support requests sent to our email.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies:

• Theme preference. Stored in localStorage to remember your light/dark mode choice.
• Pro status. A session cookie (ai_cs_pro) is set after a successful Stripe payment to unlock Pro features for up to 12 months depending on the plan purchased, without requiring a login.
• Analytics. Vercel Analytics uses minimal, privacy-first tracking with no cross-site advertising cookies. PostHog may set a first-party cookie to distinguish unique sessions.

We do not use advertising trackers, remarketing pixels, or third-party behavioral tracking cookies.

5. Affiliate links

Some course recommendations on our site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. This does not increase your cost and does not affect which courses we recommend — our recommendations are based on quality, relevance, and user value. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

6. Your rights

• Unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
• Access or deletion. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you or ask us to delete it by contacting us. We'll respond within 30 days.
• GDPR / CCPA. If you are in the EU or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively. Contact us to exercise those rights.

7. Children's privacy

AI Career Shield is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll notify email subscribers. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
